Cake, ice cream and tiaras!
Maya has been begging me for a pinata for 3 years.

Grandma's last night with us. :(Maya turned 6 today! We had her new friends, the five year old twins next door over for cake, ice cream, pinata, sidewalk chalk drawing and snowball making. They found the snowball makers Chris got for Christmas and went to work. Tomorrow the kids go back to school after their Christmas break. We had a nice relaxing vacation at home. The boys played a lot of pond hockey. Maya played with her friends almost every day.
Poppop (Matt's dad) and Grandma Jean visited us Oregon. They were here for Christmas. Grandma (Irene's mom) came down from Alaska to spend Christmas, New Year and Maya's birthday with us. She really enjoyed being able to walk outside without worrying about falling on ice. Of course she enjoyed the grandchildren, too! The temperature drops below freezing at night, but when the sun comes up it warms up to 50 during the day. We had beautiful warm, sunny weather while she was here. She flies home tomorrow. We had such a wonderful time, we miss her already!
